Isnag
The Isnag are an Indigenous group primarily found in the northern part of the Philippines, particularly in the provinces of Apayao, Cagayan, Ilokos Norte, and Kalinga.
They live in rural barangays such as Conner, Flora, and Pudtol. The Isnag practice traditional farming, hunting, and fishing, and their culture is rich in rituals and craftsmanship, including weaving and basket-making. They maintain strong ancestral ties to the land and perform ceremonies to honor spirits and ancestors. Their social structure is based on communal living, and they are known for their unique language, and distinct music and dance practices. Culture Bearers such as Kandiz Alangao Bulsao and JP Maximo Llapitan have been warm, welcome, and heavily knowledgeable in the cultural practices of the Isnag Ingajan of Pudtol, Apayao.
