Join us for a 3-week Filipino Folk Dance Performance Workshop, presented by MPWRD Collective and Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. In anticipation for Asian American Pacific Islander Month, we are hosting a Salon, where our workshop attendees will be given a chance to perform! Our AAPI Salon is happening on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 8pm. Show will take place at Shawl-Anderson Dance Center. The workshop will have THREE classes to prepare for the big day. Each class will be dedicated to learning choreography, and ensuring that all dancers are PERFORMANCE READY. The fourth class will be the PERFORMANCE DAY! Workshop attendees will perform the choreography they have learned in front of an audience! Attendees from our past workshops are encouraged to sign up, since we are performing material that has already been covered. It is NOT mandatory to have taken our previous workshops and is open to anyone who wants to participate. Filipino Folk Dance is an all levels, all-ages workshop. You do not need to identify as Filipino to participate. Teens ages 14+ can attend without a parent/guardian. Students under 14, please come with a parent/guardian. Students age 70+ with limited mobility, please consider coming with a companion as well.

In order to participate, dancers MUST BE AVAILABLE ON PERFORMANCE DAY AND COMMIT TO ALL 3 CLASSES!
